Beef and Tam Com Bowl
A flavorful and nutritious bowl filled with ground beef, tam, and com, inspired by Vietnamese cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Ground Beef80/20 or 70/30 lean to fat ratio works best
- β2 tablespoons Vietnamese Gingered Saucestore-bought or homemade
- β2 cups Tamfresh or frozen, thawed
- β2 cups Com (Vietnamese-Style Fried Rice)store-bought or homemade
- β1 tablespoon Soy Sauceor to taste
- βchopped Fresh Cilantrooptional garnish
- βchopped Scallionsoptional garnish
- βto taste Saltor to taste
- βto taste Black Pepperor to taste
Instructions

Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the Vietnamese gingered sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.

Add the cooked com to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef mixture.

Add the tam to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef and com mixture.

Season with soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to taste.

Serve the beef and tam com mixture hot, garnished with chopped cilantro and scallions if desired.

Cook the tam according to package instructions, if using frozen.

Prepare the com according to package instructions, if using store-bought.

If making homemade com, cook the rice according to package instructions, then stir-fry it with some oil and soy sauce until lightly browned.

To make the Vietnamese gingered sauce, combine soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and chili flakes in a small bowl. Stir until the ginger is well combined with the soy sauce.
