Aliche's Spicy Lemongrass Chicken
A fusion of spicy and lemongrass flavors in a traditional Ethiopian-style chicken dish.
Ingredients
- β2 cups Aliche
- β2 stalks, bruised LemongrassUse only the white and light green parts
- β1 cup GrittyGritty bread crumbs can be used as a coating
- β1/4 cup YeEthiopian flatbread, torn into small pieces
- β2 BegOnion, chopped
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
- β2 tablespoons Olive oil
Instructions

1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add the bruised lemongrass and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

3. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

4. Add the torn ye and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

5. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-6 minutes.

6. Reduce heat to medium-low and add the salt, black pepper, and lemongrass.

7. Simmer for 10-12 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through.

8. Serve hot, garnished with additional lemongrass if desired.
