Smoky Gooey Casserole
A rich and creamy casserole featuring smoky flavors and gooey goodness. Inspired by Ukrainian comfort food.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, shredded Gooey cheeseCheddar or mozzarella work well
- β1 pound, sliced Smoky sausageLook for Ukrainian-style sausage or use a similar variety
- β1/2 cup AoliStore-bought or homemade, to taste
- β8 ounces Casserole noodlesWide egg noodles or pappardelle work well
- β1 medium, diced OnionSweet or yellow onions are good choices
- β3 cloves, minced GarlicUse fresh garlic for the best flavor
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook casserole noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook sliced sausage over medium-high heat until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Stir in aoli and cook for an additional minute.

In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked noodles, sausage mixture, and shredded cheese.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
