German Apple Strudel
A classic German dessert made with flaky puff pastry, sweet apples, and a hint of herbal spices.
Ingredients
- β1 sheet (thawed) Puff Pastry
- β2 cups, peeled and sliced Apples
- β1/2 cup Gooey Sugar
- β1 tsp Herbal Spices (Cinnamon, Nutmeg)
- β1 egg, beaten Eggs
- β2 tbsp Melted Butter
- β1 tsp Bake Powder

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

In a large bowl, mix together the sliced apples, gooey sugar, and herbal spices.

Spread the apple mixture evenly over the center of the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border on either side.

Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg and fold the pastry over the apple mixture to form a triangle.

Press the edges together to seal the strudel and brush the top with melted butter.

Sprinkle bake powder over the top of the strudel.

Place the strudel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
