Indian-Style Gulab Jamun Dumplings
A sweet and indulgent dessert made with dumplings soaked in a rich, spiced syrup.
Ingredients
- β1 liter Milk
- β1 cup All-purpose flour
- β1/2 cup Ghee or vegetable oil
- β1 cup Gulab syrup
- β1 package Dumpling wrappers (momo or wonton)
- β1/2 teaspoon Cardamom powder
- β1 tablespoon Rosewater
- β1 cup Sugar

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk and flour. Mix well until the flour dissolves.

2. Add the ghee or vegetable oil to the mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.

3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

4. Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a small egg.

5. Roll out each ball into a thin circle.

6. Place a tablespoon of the dough in the center of each wrapper.

7. Fold the wrapper into a triangle and press the edges together to seal the dumpling.

8. Heat a large saucepan with the gulab syrup and add the cardamom powder and rosewater.

9. Bring the syrup to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer.

10. Add the dumplings to the syrup and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
