Middle Eastern Red Rice Pilaf
A flavorful, fragrant, and nourishing pilaf dish made with red rice, perfect for a gluten-free meal.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup Red rice
- ●2 tablespoons Fragrant oil (e.g. olive)
- ●1 medium Onion
- ●2 cloves Garlic
- ●2 teaspoons Dried rose petals
- ●1 teaspoon Cumin
- ●to taste Salt
- ●chopped, for garnish Parsley
Instructions

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the red rice and stir to coat with oil and mix with onion and garlic.

Add 2 cups of water, dried rose petals, cumin, and salt.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.

Fluff the pilaf with a fork and garnish with chopped parsley.
