Turkish Poppy Seed Fritters
Crispy fritters filled with a sweet poppy seed mixture, perfect for a snack or dessert. These fritters originate from Turkish cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- β1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- β1/4 cup Turkish poppy seeds
- β1/4 cup Melted butter
- β1 Egg
- β1 tsp Vanilla extract
- β1 tsp Dense seedsToasted and crushed

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and poppy seeds.

In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth.

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Using a cookie scoop, drop the dough into the oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
