Fiery Tacu Cheese Fritters
A spicy twist on traditional Peruvian tacu tacu, these crispy fritters are filled with melted cheese and served with a tangy side of salsa.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 cups Taco shells
- β1 cup, shredded Mozzarella cheese
- β1, diced Fiery pepper
- β1/2 cup, finely chopped Onion
- β3 cloves, minced Garlic
- β1 Egg
- β1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
- β1/4 cup Peruvian aji amarillo sauce
- β2 cups, for frying Vegetable oil

1. Preheat the oil in a large skillet to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

2. In a large bowl, crush the taco shells into fine crumbs.

3. In a separate bowl, mix the cheese, diced pepper, onion, garlic, and egg.

4. Add the cheese mixture to the taco shell crumbs and stir until well combined.

5. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.

6. Flatten each ball slightly into a disk shape.

7. Dip each disk into the breadcrumbs, coating both sides evenly.

8. Fry the fritters in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
