Ingredients
- ●3 large, peeled and thinly sliced potatoes
- ●1 medium, thinly sliced onion
- ●2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

- ●1 cup, shredded gruyère cheese

Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.

Add the sliced onions and cook until they're softened and caramelized, stirring occasionally.
- 4
In a separate saucepan, combine the sliced potatoes, flour, and a pinch of salt.
- 5
Gradually add the heavy cream, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
- 6
Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the potatoes are slightly tender, about 5 minutes.
- 7
In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, create a layer of potatoes.
- 8
Top with a layer of caramelized onions, followed by a sprinkle of Gruyère cheese.
- 9
Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of cheese on top.
- 10
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
- 11
Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
