Crispy Spanish Orange Chicken
A Chinese-inspired dish with crispy fried chicken, tangy orange sauce, and a hint of Spanish spice.

- β1 cup all-purpose flourfor dusting
- β2 tablespoons cornstarchfor coating
- β2 large eggsbeaten
- β1 cup vegetable oilfor frying
- β1 cup orange juicefreshly squeezed

- β2 tablespoons soy saucefor savory flavor
- β1 tablespoon rice vinegarfor tanginess
- β1 teaspoon garlic powderfor flavor

1. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Dust the chicken pieces with the flour mixture.

2. Dip the floured chicken pieces in beaten eggs and then coat with flour mixture again.

3. Heat 1/2 cup of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy.

4. Remove the fried chicken from the oil and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.

5. In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and garlic powder. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.

6. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes or until thickened.

7. Add the fried chicken back into the saucepan and toss to coat with the orange sauce.
