French Meringue Crisp
A classic French dessert combining a crunchy meringue topping with a sweet and tangy crisp base.

- β1 cup Granulated sugarfor the crisp
- β1/2 cup All-purpose flourfor the crisp
- β1/2 cup Unsalted butterfor the crisp
- β2 tablespoons Lemon juicefor the crisp
- β1 teaspoon Vanilla extractfor the meringue

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Prepare the crisp base by mixing the sugar, flour, and butter in a bowl until crumbly.

Press the mixture into a 9x9-inch baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.

While the crisp is baking, prepare the meringue by whipping the French meringue with the vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Spread the meringue over the crisp base and return to the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the meringue is golden brown.
