German Pork Casserole
A hearty German-inspired casserole made with tender pork and sweet cherry sauce, served with crispy potatoes and a side of steamed vegetables.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds Pork shoulderCut into 1-inch cubes
- β1/2 cup Cherry jamHomemade or store-bought
- β1 pound German sausageOptional
- β1 large OnionSliced
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β2 large PotatoesThinly sliced

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Brown the pork cubes in a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove from heat and set aside.

In the same skillet, cook the sliced onion and minced garlic until softened.

Add the German sausage (if using) and cook until browned.

Add the cherry jam and stir to combine.

In a separate bowl, mix the sliced potatoes with a pinch of salt and pepper.

In the prepared casserole dish, create a layer of potatoes, followed by a layer of the pork mixture, and repeat.
