Chewy Vietnamese Lasagne
A unique fusion of Chinese and Vietnamese flavors in a classic Italian dish. Chewy noodles and midnight spices add an exotic twist.
Ingredients
- β8 sheets Lasagnefresh or dried
- β1 block Tofupressed and drained
- β2 tsp Midnight spicesground cinnamon, star anise, and cardamom
- β2 tbsp Vegetable oilfor frying
- β1 cup Chewy noodlesdried or fresh
- β2 tbsp Vietnamese chili sauceoptional
- β1 tbsp Soy sauceor tamari
- β1 tsp Gingergrated
- β1/4 cup Green onionschopped
- β1 tbsp Sesame seedsoptional
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the lasagne according to the package instructions.

Press and drain the tofu, then cut it into small cubes.

Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.

Add the tofu and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the midnight spices and cook for another minute.

In a separate pan, combine the chewy noodles, soy sauce, ginger, and green onions.

Stir-fry the noodles for about 2-3 minutes, until they're well coated with the sauce.

Add the cooked tofu to the noodle mixture and stir-fry for another minute.

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, create a layer of the noodle mixture.

Add a layer of the cooked lasagne sheets on top.

Repeat the layers one more time, ending with a layer of the noodle mixture.

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top (if using) and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
