Japanese Chicken Tagine
A fusion dish that combines Indian and Japanese flavors. Marinated chicken is cooked in a flavorful tagine with aromatics and served over a bed of steamed jasmine rice.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breastcut into bite-sized pieces
- β2 tablespoons Japanese soy sauce
- β1 teaspoon Indian garam masala
- β1 teaspoon tagine spice mix
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 inches gingergrated
- β2 tablespoons Japanese rice vinegar
- β2 cups chicken broth
- β2 cups jasmine rice
- β1/4 cup sliced scallions

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the onion and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the ginger and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Add the soy sauce, garam masala, and tagine spice mix. Stir to combine.

Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
