Syrian Ikura Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic dish that combines the richness of ikura with the spices of Syria. Perfect for a warm evening.
Ingredients
- β6 ounces Ikura (Salmon Roe)Fresh or frozen, thawed
- β2 teaspoons Zesty Tagine Spice MixAvailable at most Middle Eastern markets
- β1/4 cup Fresh parsleyChopped
- β1/4 cup Fresh mintChopped
- β2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- β2 tablespoons Olive oil
- βTo taste Salt and pepper

Heat the olive oil in a large clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add the chopped parsley and mint and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add the ikura and cook for 2-3 minutes, until it starts to break down and release its oils.

Add the zesty tagine spice mix and stir to combine.

Add the lemon juice and stir to combine.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Simmer the mixture over low heat for 5-7 minutes, until the flavors have melded together and the ikura has broken down.
