Crisp German Skillet with Ackee
A twist on a classic German dish, this skillet recipe features ackee, a Caribbean favorite. The crisp texture and zesty flavors come together for a unique and delicious meal.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, drained and chopped ackee
- β4 slices, sliced skillet-cooked sausage
- β1 medium, chopped onion
- β2 tbsp zesty mustard
- β2 slices, crumbled crisp bacon
- β4 eggs
- βto taste salt and pepper
- β4 slices, toasted german bread

1. Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

2. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

3. Add the ackee to the skillet and stir to combine with the onion and sausage.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and zesty mustard.

5. Pour the egg mixture over the ackee mixture in the skillet.
