Grilled Chicken Biryani
A flavorful and aromatic biryani dish made with marinated grilled chicken, served with a side of yogurt sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 pound boneless chicken breastcut into 1-inch pieces
- β1/2 cup marinated russian yogurt
- β1 cup biryaniuncooked basmati rice
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- β1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- β1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- β1/4 teaspoon garam masala
- β1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Instructions

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add cumin powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes.

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

Meanwhile, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a separate pan.

Add the chopped cilantro and cook for 1 minute.

Add the uncooked basmati rice and cook for 2-3 minutes or until lightly toasted.

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes or until the rice is cooked and fluffy.

To assemble the biryani, place a layer of cooked rice, then a layer of chicken, and repeat until all the ingredients are used up.

Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with a side of yogurt sauce.

To make the yogurt sauce, mix together 1/2 cup of marinated russian yogurt with 1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
