- β1 cup Split peas dried
- β1 medium Onion chopped
- β3 cloves Garlic minced
- β1 teaspoon Cumin ground
- β1/2 teaspoon Chili powder ground
- β1/2 teaspoon Salt to taste
- β1/4 teaspoon Pepper to taste
- β4 cups Water

Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the sliced Norwegian sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
