Syrian-Style Tagine with Yellowed Rice and Pilchards

Ingredients

- ●1 can Pilchards (sardines in oil)drained and flaked
- ●2 tbsp Olive oil
- ●1 medium Onionchopped
- ●2 cloves Garlicminced
- ●1 tsp Cumin
- ●1 tsp Coriander
- ●1/2 tsp Chili flakes

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the cumin, coriander, and chili flakes. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the pilchards and cook until heated through.

Add the yellowed rice to the saucepan and stir to combine.

Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the rice is lightly toasted.

Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.
