Polish Pork Casserole
A hearty and flavorful Polish-inspired dish featuring pork and a nutty crust.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound Pork shoulder
- ●1 cup, cubed Polish rye bread
- ●1 Casserole dishNot an ingredient, but required for cooking
- ●2 tablespoons Melted butter
- ●1 medium, chopped Yellow onion
- ●3 cloves, minced Garlic
- ●1 teaspoon Dried thyme
- ●to taste Salt and pepper
- ●1 tablespoon Brown sugar

Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).

In a large skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened.

Add the pork shoulder and cook until browned on all sides.

Transfer the pork to a casserole dish and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the cubed Polish rye bread and cook until toasted.

Sprinkle the toasted bread over the pork in the casserole dish.

Drizzle the melted butter over the bread and sprinkle with dried thyme.

Season with salt, pepper, and brown sugar to taste.
