Pandowdy Pancake with Apple Compote
A Norwegian-inspired dessert featuring a crumbly pancake topped with a warm apple compote.
Ingredients
- ●1 (8-inch) norwegian pancake Pancake
- ●2-3, peeled and sliced Applesany variety works well, but sweeter apples like Gala or Fuji are preferred
- ●2 tablespoons, melted Flaky butterto enhance the pancake's texture and flavor
- ●1 tablespoon Yellowed sugaruse to balance the sweetness and add a hint of caramel

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a separate pan, melt the flaky butter over medium heat. Add the sliced apples and cook until they start to soften, about 5 minutes.

Add 1 tablespoon of yellowed sugar to the pan and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While the apples are cooking, prepare the pancake according to the package instructions. Flip the pancake and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Transfer the pancake to a plate and top with the warm apple compote. Serve immediately.

To make the compote, combine the cooked apples, melted butter, and remaining 1 tablespoon of yellowed sugar in a bowl. Mix well and adjust the sweetness to taste.
