Ali's Middle Eastern Samosas
A traditional Indian snack filled with spiced potatoes and peas, wrapped in a flaky pastry.
Ingredients
- ●1 package (frozen) pastrythawed
- ●2 tsp ali's spice mixsee notes
- ●2 large potatoesdiced
- ●1 cup peasfresh or frozen
- ●1 medium onionchopped
- ●2 inches gingergrated
- ●3 cloves garlicminced
- ●1 tsp salt
- ●1/2 cup oil

Preheat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (180°C).

In a pan, sauté the onion, ginger, and garlic until softened.

Add the potatoes, peas, and spice mix to the pan and cook until the potatoes are tender.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pastry to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

Cut out circles of pastry using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a tablespoon of the potato mixture onto the center of each pastry circle.

Brush the edges of the pastry with a little water and fold the pastry in half to form a triangle.

Seal the edges by pressing with a fork and press the edges together to seal the samosa.

Fry the samosas in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Drain the samosas on paper towels and serve hot.
