Middle Eastern French-Style Knafeh
A unique fusion of French and Middle Eastern flavors, this knafeh is a sweet and savory pastry filled with a creamy cheese mixture.
Ingredients
- β1 package Knafeh dough
- β1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
- β1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- β1 cup Confectioner's sugar
- β1/4 cup Unsalted butter
- β4 large Eggs
- β1 tsp Vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the knafeh dough and cut it into squares.

Mix the mozzarella and parmesan cheese together.

Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture onto one half of the dough square.

Add a few pieces of confectioner's sugar on top of the cheese.

Fold the other half of the dough square over the filling and press the edges together.

Brush the tops of the knafeh with the unsalted butter.

Beat the eggs in a small bowl and brush them over the tops of the knafeh.

Bake the knafeh in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
