Cheesy Bean Pilaf
A flavorful pilaf dish with beans, cheese, and a hint of Middle Eastern spices.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Syrian white rice
- β1 cup Dried yellow split peas
- β1 can (15 oz) Canned beans
- β1/2 cup Shredded white cheddar cheese
- β1 tsp Pilaf spice blend
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the pilaf spice blend and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

Add the Syrian white rice and cook for 2-3 minutes, until lightly toasted.

Add the dried yellow split peas and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Add the canned beans, salt, and black pepper.

Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the liquid has been absorbed.
