Vegan Seitan Burgers
A flavorful and tender seitan burger alternative for a vegan diet. Serve with your favorite toppings!
Ingredients
- β1 package (12 oz) seitanhomemade or store-bought
- β1 medium, finely chopped yellow onion
- β1/4 cup portuguese portor other vegan red wine
- β1 cup, sliced braised mushrooms
- β4 burger buns (gluten-free)optional, for serving
- β4 tbsp vegan mayooptional, for serving
Instructions

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium heat.

Cut the seitan into 4 equal patties.

In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp of oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid and start to brown.

Add the portuguese port and stir to combine.

Add the seitan patties and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

Serve the seitan burgers on gluten-free buns with vegan mayo, if desired.

Optional: grill the buns for a few minutes to toast them.
