Portuguese Strawberry Tart
A sweet and tangy dessert that combines the flavors of strawberries and a crumbly Portuguese tart crust.

- β1/2 cup unsalted butterchilled
- β1/4 cup granulated sugar
- β2 large eggs
- β2 tbsp honey
- β2 cups strawberrieshulled and sliced
- β1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and sugar. Add cold butter and use a pastry blender or your fingers to work it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Press the mixture into a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Chill in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Line the tart crust with parchment paper and fill with pie weights or dried beans.

Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the parchment paper and pie weights or beans.

Return the tart crust to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden.

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, honey, and vanilla extract. Arrange the sliced strawberries in a pattern on the baked tart crust.

Pour the egg mixture over the strawberries and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the tart is golden brown.
