Classic American Apple Pie
A traditional American dessert featuring tender apples and a flaky crust, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- β3-4 Apples
- β2 cups All-purpose flour
- β1 cup Cold unsalted buttercut into small pieces
- β1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- β1/4 cup Brown sugar
- β1 Large eggs
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- β1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
- β1 double-crust Pie crust

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Peel, core, and slice the apples, and mix with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Roll out the pie crust and place in a 9-inch pie dish.

Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture and dot the top with butter.

Roll out the remaining pie crust and use to cover the pie. Crimp the edges to seal.

Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

Brush the top crust with an egg wash (beaten egg mixed with a little water).

Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
