Spicy American Burger Buns
Soft, warm, yeasty buns to elevate your burgers, topped with a spicy kick from kimchi.
Ingredients

- β2 teaspoons yeast
- β3 cups all-purpose flouruse high-protein flour for better rise
- β1 tablespoon sugar
- β1 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 cup, finely chopped kimchi
- β1 large, beaten egg
- β2 tablespoons butter, melted
- β1 cup all-purpose flour for dusting

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes until yeast is activated.

Add flour, salt, and chopped kimchi to the bowl. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

Add beaten egg and melted butter to the dough. Mix until a sticky ball forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10-12 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 4-6 equal pieces, depending on desired bun size.
