Moroccan Harira Meatballs
A traditional Moroccan dish made with ground pork and a blend of warm, smoky spices. Serve as a main course or as an appetizer for a dinner party.
Ingredients
- β1 pound ground pork
- β2 teaspoons harira spice blendavailable at most Middle Eastern grocery stores
- β1 medium onionfinely chopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon cumin
- β1/2 teaspoon paprika
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- β1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, harira spice blend, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands until just combined.

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) in diameter. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Drizzle the top of each meatball with a little water and sprinkle with a pinch of flour.

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until cooked through.

While the meatballs are baking, heat a large skillet over medium heat.

Once the meatballs are done, remove from the oven and carefully place in the skillet.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and crispy.
