Tunisian Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic North African dish made with chicken, spices, and vegetables, served with a side of warm and silky sauce.
Ingredients
- β4 chicken thighsbone-in
- β2 tbsp olive oil
- β1 large onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tsp tunisian spice blendstore-bought or homemade
- β1 cup chicken brothlow-carb
- β1/2 cup silk tofucrumbled
- β2 tbsp almond flour

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and tunisian spice blend.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the chicken broth to the skillet and stir to deglaze, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.

Pour the skillet contents over the chicken in the baking dish.

Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.

While the chicken is cooking, crumble the silk tofu and mix with almond flour.

Once the chicken is done, remove from the oven and top with the tofu mixture.

Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the tofu is lightly browned.
