Venezuelan Chicken Empanadas
Delicious empanadas filled with shredded chicken and spices, inspired by Venezuelan cuisine. Perfect as a snack or light meal.
Ingredients
- β1 package empanada dough (flaky)homemade or store-bought
- β1 pound chicken breastcooked and shredded
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon cuminground
- β1 teaspoon paprikaground
- β1/2 teaspoon saltto taste
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepperto taste
- β1 cup shredded cheese (warm)optional

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the empanada dough and cut into circles.

Place a tablespoon of shredded chicken in the center of each circle.

Add a sprinkle of onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper on top of the chicken.

Fold the dough in half to form a half-circle and press the edges together to seal.

Brush the tops with a little warm water and sprinkle with shredded cheese (if using).

Place the empanadas on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
