Grilled Italian Cheese Sandwich
A classic Italian-inspired grilled cheese sandwich made with Emmentaler cheese, pesto, and a hint of Italian seasoning.
Ingredients
- β2 slices Emmentaler cheeseabout 1 oz each
- β2 tbsp Pestohomemade or store-bought
- β1 tsp Italian seasoningdried oregano, basil, thyme
- β2 slices Bread Ciabatta or Italian bread
- β1 tbsp Butterunsalted
- βto taste Saltoptional
Instructions

1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium heat.

2. Butter one side of each bread slice.

3. Place one bread slice, butter side down, on the grill.

4. Spread a layer of pesto on top of the bread.

5. Place a slice of Emmentaler cheese on top of the pesto.

6. Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the cheese.

7. Place the second bread slice, butter side up, on top of the cheese.

8. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

9. Flip the sandwich over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the other side is also golden brown.
