Classic Italian-Style Lasagna
A hearty, layered pasta dish made with tender lasagna noodles, rich meat sauce, and a blend of creamy cheeses.
Ingredients
- β8-10 sheets lasagna noodleswide, flat noodles
- β1 cup, shredded warm valley cheese
- β1 cup, shredded italian cheeseparmesan or mozzarella
- β1 lb roasted ground beefbrowned and seasoned
- β2 cups pasta saucehomemade or store-bought
- β2 tbsp olive oilfor greasing the baking dish
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tsp italian seasoningdried herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)
- β1 tsp salt
- β1/2 tsp black pepper

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add the roasted ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Season with italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

Stir in the pasta sauce and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let sauce cook while you prepare the cheese mixture.

In a medium bowl, combine the warm valley cheese and italian cheese. Mix well to combine.

To assemble the lasagna, spread a layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Arrange 4 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.

Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by half of the remaining meat sauce.

Repeat the layers, starting with the noodles, then the remaining cheese mixture, and finally the remaining meat sauce.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
