Spicy Turkish Lentil Skillet
A hearty and flavorful Turkish-inspired lentil dish with a spicy kick, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Lentilsbrown or green
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 tsp Cuminground
- β1 tsp Paprikasweet
- β1/4 tsp Cayenne pepperoptional, adjust to taste
- β Skilletlarge, oven-safe
- β2 tbsp Olive oilfor cooking

Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the lentils, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add 2 cups of water and bring the mixture to a boil.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the lentils are tender.
