Roasted Root and Deodeok Revani
A sweet and savory dessert featuring roasted root and deodeok in a traditional Turkish revani.
Ingredients
- β2 medium unique rootpeeled and chopped
- β4 stalks deodeokpeeled and chopped
- β1 cup revaniground or finely chopped
- β1 tsp turkish spicesmix of cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves
- β1/4 cup honeywarm and runny
- β2 tbsp ghee or oilfor greasing
- β1 cup waterfor soaking

Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the chopped root, deodeok, and turkish spices.

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with ghee or oil.

Pour the honey over the root and deodeok mixture and stir until well combined.

Add the revani and stir until the mixture is evenly coated.

Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.

Soak the cooled dessert in 1 cup of warm water for 10-15 minutes.
