German Pork Casserole
A hearty, comforting casserole filled with tender pork and a side of pillowy potatoes.
Ingredients
- β1 pound pork shoulder
- β8 ounces uncooked egg noodles
- β2 large pillowy potatoes
- β1 pound german sausage
- β1 medium onion
- β1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
- β2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- β1 cup beer
Instructions

Preheat oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot, cook the german sausage over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the onion to the pot and cook until softened.

Add the pork shoulder to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.

Add the beer, caraway seeds, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven.

Bake for 2 1/2 hours, or until the pork is tender.

About 30 minutes before serving, add the cooked noodles and potatoes to the pot. Stir to combine.

Return the pot to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
