Korean Beef Stew
A hearty and flavorful Korean-inspired beef stew made with tender beef and a sweet and spicy sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 pound ultra beef stripsthinly sliced
- β4 tender beef bonesbeef neck bones
- β2 teaspoons Korean chili flakesgochugaru
- β2 tablespoons soy saucedivided
- β2 tablespoons brown sugardivided
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 inches gingersliced
- β1/4 cup green onionschopped

Preheat oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

Season beef strips with salt and pepper.

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high.

Sear beef strips until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

Add remaining oil to pot, then add garlic, ginger, and Korean chili flakes. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add beef bones and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and 2 cups of water to pot. Stir to combine.

Return beef strips to pot and bring to a simmer.

Cover pot and transfer to preheated oven. Braise for 2-3 hours, or until beef is tender.

Stir in green onions and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

Serve hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
