Lentil Bao Dumplings
Soft and fluffy bao filled with flavorful lentil dumplings, perfect for a quick and easy dinner.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Lentils
- β4 pieces Bao dough
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- β1 small piece Gingergrated
- β2 cloves Garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon Sesame oil
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Pepper

In a large pot, combine lentils and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

While the lentils are cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add grated ginger and minced garlic to the pan and cook for 1 minute.

Add cooked lentils, soy sauce, and sesame oil to the pan and stir to combine.

To assemble the bao, place a piece of bao dough on a flat surface and flatten it slightly.

Place a tablespoon of the lentil mixture in the center of the dough.

Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape and press the edges together to seal.

Heat a non-stick pan or a steamer basket with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat.

Cook the bao dumplings for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
