Thai Pork Buns
Soft and fluffy Thai-style buns filled with sweet and savory pork, perfect for a quick snack or meal.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Australian pork shoulder
- β2 cups Fluffy bread flour
- β1/2 cup Sweet coconut milk
- β2 teaspoons Bake yeast
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1 tablespoon Sugar
- β1/4 cup Vegetable oil
- β1/4 cup Green onions
- β1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
- β2 tablespoons Thai red chili sauce

In a small bowl, combine yeast and sugar. Add in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and sesame seeds. Add in yeast mixture, coconut milk, and vegetable oil. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Punch down the dough and divide into 8 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a ball and flatten slightly into a disk.

Place a tablespoon of pork filling in the center of each disk. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal.

Place the buns on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each bun.

Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Brush the tops with Thai red chili sauce and sprinkle with green onions.
