Korean-Style BBQ Beef Ssam
A spicy and savory Korean-inspired dish featuring marinated beef wrapped in crispy ssam leaves.
Ingredients

- β1 package ssam leavesfound in most Asian grocery stores
- β2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- β2 tablespoons soy sauce
- β1 tablespoon brown sugar
- β2 cloves garlic
- β1/4 cup green onions
- β1/4 cup crispy garlicoptional
- β1 tablespoon dutch mustardoptional

In a large bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and green onions.

Add the sliced beef to the marinade and mix to coat.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

Remove the beef from the marinade and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness.

Meanwhile, toast the ssam leaves by wrapping them in foil and heating them in the oven at 400Β°F (200Β°C) for 5 minutes.

Assemble the ssams by placing a piece of beef onto a toasted leaf, followed by a spoonful of crispy garlic and a drizzle of dutch mustard (if using).
