Saudi Arabian Cookies with Pastry
A traditional Saudi dessert made with crispy cookies and gooey pastry.
Ingredients
- β2 cups All-purpose flour
- β1 cup Granulated sugar
- β1/2 cup Ghee or unsalted butter
- β1/4 cup Sour cream
- β1 sheet Pastry dough
- β1/4 cup Confectioners' sugar
- β1/4 cup, chopped Pistachios or almonds

Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

Whisk together the flour and sugar in a large bowl.

Add the ghee or unsalted butter and mix until crumbly.

Stir in the sour cream and mix until a dough forms.

Roll out the pastry dough to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

Cut the pastry into desired shapes using a cookie cutter.

Place the pastry shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.

Dust the cookies with confectioners' sugar and top with chopped nuts.
