Smoky Roasted Egyptian Stew
A hearty stew with smoky roasted flavors from the Middle East, made with tender beef and warm spices.
Ingredients
- β1.5 lbs beefcut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 tsp smoky paprikadried
- β3 cloves roasted garlicminced
- β1 tsp egyptian corianderground
- β1 large onionchopped
- β2 medium carrotpeeled, chopped
- β seeds (optional)pomegranate seeds, for garnish
Instructions

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Add the onion and carrot and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the roasted garlic, smoky paprika, and egyptian coriander, and cook for 1 minute.

Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours, or until the beef is tender.

Serve hot, garnished with pomegranate seeds if desired.

Stir fry any remaining vegetables or meat before serving, if desired.
