Gratin Lentil Stew
A hearty, comforting Italian-inspired stew made with roasted lentils and topped with a crispy gratin crust.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup dried brown lentils Lentil
- ●2 medium onions, chopped Smoky1 tablespoon olive oil
- ●2 cloves garlic, minced Roasted
- ●1 carrot, chopped Croatian
- ●1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Gratin
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the garlic, carrot, and lentils to the pot. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add 4 cups water to the pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the lentils are tender.

Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.

Transfer the stew to a 9x13 inch baking dish and top with additional Parmesan cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
