Smoky Stew with Lettuce and Gem
A hearty stew made with smoky sausage, tender gem lettuce, and a hint of dutch spices. Serve with a side of crusty bread for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- β1 pound smoky sausagecut into 1-inch pieces
- β2 medium dutch carrotspeeled and chopped
- β2 medium little potatoespeeled and chopped
- β2 heads gem lettucechopped
- β4 cups stewhomemade or store-bought
- β2 tablespoons olive oilfor sautΓ©ing
- β1 teaspoon saltto taste
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepperto taste

Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.

Add the smoky sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the chopped carrots and potatoes and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
