Smoky Chicken Pilaf
A flavorful Indian-inspired dish featuring chicken and smoky spices, served with a side of pilaf.
Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken breast
- β2 teaspoons smoky paprika
- β2 brazilian malagueta peppersadjust to taste
- β1 cup pilaf rice
- β2 tablespoons ghee or vegetable oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β2 inches gingergrated
- β1 teaspoon garam masala
- βto taste salt
- β2 cups water
Instructions

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Add the onion and ginger to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.

Add the malagueta peppers and cook for an additional minute.

Add the pilaf rice to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Return the chicken to the skillet and stir in the garam masala and smoky paprika.

Add the water to the skillet and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the liquid has been absorbed.

Fluff the pilaf with a fork and season with salt to taste.
