Jamaican Tofu Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew made with smoky tofu, jamaican seasonings, and a hint of bitterness from the stew.
Ingredients
- β1 block (14 oz) smoky tofucut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 cups stewyour choice of stew, such as beef or vegetable
- β2 tsp jamaican seasoningor to taste
- β1 large onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 large bell pepperchopped
- β2 tbsp tomato pasteor 1 can of diced tomatoes
- β2 cups wateror vegetable broth
- βto taste saltoptional
- βto taste black pepperoptional
Instructions

Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add bell pepper and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Add jamaican seasoning and cook for 1 minute.

Add tofu and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add stew, tomato paste, and water. Stir to combine.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired.
