Braised Portuguese Cabbage Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew made with slow-cooked cabbage and traditional Portuguese ingredients.
Ingredients
- β1 medium head cabbage
- β1 cup, chopped slowslow-cooked carrots
- β2 tbsp, olive oil portugueseimported from Portugal
- β2 cups, beef broth stewlow-sodium broth
- β1 medium, chopped onion
- β2 cloves, minced garlic
- β1 can, diced tomato
- β1 tsp paprika
- β1 tsp salt
- β0.5 tsp black pepper

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chopped cabbage and cook until slightly tender, about 5 minutes.

Add the beef broth, diced tomato, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes.
