Algerian Lamb Tagine
A traditional North African stew originating from Algeria, made with lamb and slow-cooked in a flavorful tagine pot. This gluten-free version is a hearty and aromatic meal perfect for a cold evening.
Ingredients
- β1 (1.5-2 kg) Lamb shoulder
- β1 large Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β2 cm Ginger
- β1 cup Apricots
- β1/2 cup Pine nuts
- β1 tsp Cumin
- β1 tsp Coriander
- β1 tsp Cinnamon
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
- β1 cup Water

Season the lamb with salt and black pepper.

Heat oil in a large tagine pot over medium heat.

Brown the lamb on all sides, then remove and set aside.

Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the pot and cook until softened.

Add cumin, coriander, and cinnamon; cook for 1 minute.

Add apricots, pine nuts, and browned lamb to the pot.

Pour in water and bring to a boil.

Cover the pot and transfer to the oven at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 2 hours.
