Japanese Shattering Cookies
A delicate Japanese-inspired cookie with a crunchy texture, perfect for a snack.
Ingredients

- ●1/4 teaspoon korean chili flakes (gochugaru)
- ●1/2 cup unsalted nuts (walnuts or almonds)
- ●1 cup granulated sugar
- ●1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the shattering, korean chili flakes, and nuts.

In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

Roll the dough into a log shape and wrap it in plastic wrap.

Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes.

Slice the dough into 1/4-inch thick rounds.

Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving 2 inches of space between each cookie.
