Classic Italian Lasagna
A timeless Italian dish that combines tender lasagna sheets with rich meat sauce and creamy cheese.
Ingredients

- β1 pound ground beef80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β28 oz canned tomatoescrushed
- β1 cup ricotta cheesewhole milk
- β1 cup parmesan cheesegrated
- β2 cups mozzarella cheeseshredded
- β1 tsp saltto taste
- β1/2 tsp black pepperto taste

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Cook lasagna sheets according to package instructions.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned.

Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.

Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, and black pepper.

Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Spread a layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Arrange 4 lasagna sheets on top of the sauce.

Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the lasagna sheets.

Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese.

Repeat the layers: meat sauce, lasagna sheets, ricotta cheese mixture, and mozzarella cheese.

Top the final layer of lasagna sheets with the remaining meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
